Overcoming Toxic Shame Livestream Seminar

Overcoming Toxic Shame Livestream Seminar

Tuesday, Nov. 14 2023

7:00 - 9:30 PM ET

How do we overcome toxic shame?  This livestream is based on the most popular talk I ever gave as a pastor.  This is an expanded version of that talk and a more thorough look on how to overcome the toxic shame that limits our capacity to connect with God and others.

There is a difference between shame and toxic shame.

Paul tells the church at Corinth that they ought to be ashamed for certain behaviors. When we feel shame for our behavior, it leads to repentance and life change.  But when we feel shame not simply for what we do, but for who we are, that is toxic shame.

Toxic shame is the feeling that we are unlovable, broken, damaged, irreparable.  It is the inner sense that if people really knew us they wouldn’t accept us.  Toxic shame often leads us to a bent will - a weak will that leaves us feeling powerless to change.  How do we overcome toxic shame?

This livestream is based on the most popular talk I ever gave as a Pastor.  This is an expanded version of that talk and a more thorough look on how to overcome the toxic shame that limits our capacity to connect with God and others.  There will also be time for Q&A.

Videos of the livestream will be available for 2 weeks after the conclusion of the livestream.  Attendees will be sent a link to the livestream and a link to access the powerpoint notes 15 minutes before the livestream begins. (@ 6:45 pm on Nov. 14)
